RBFS presents "Loving Vincent"

1:00 and 4:00 pm Wednesday (Dec 13), and 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Thursday (Dec 14)., at the Cinema Art Theater, 17701 Dartmouth Drive in Dartmouth Plaza (behind the Lewes Wawa). Admission for a screening is $8 for RBFS members and $10 for future members.

LOVING VINCENT is a spectacular (and painstakingly achieved) drama exploring the mystery surrounding Vincent Van Gogh’s final days.

Made over the course of seven years, and consisting of 65,000 hand-painted frames, LOVING VINCENT is the world’s first hand-painted film. Directing-duo Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman gathered 125 professional oil-painters to paint over scenes shot by live actors in the unmistakable style of Van Gogh to tell the story of a young man who travels to the French village of Arles to investigate the death of the artist. LOVING VINCENT is an original take on the detective story, an ode to one of the world’s most famous and original artists—who died in pain and obscurity—and an amazing technical achievement, all in one. [2017, UK-Poland, Runtime: 94 minutes, Rated: PG-13].
