Metropolitan Opera Broadcast-"Der Rosenkavalier''

12:30pm (doors open at noon), Cape Henlopen High School Theater, Lewes. DER ROSENKAVALIER (The Knight of the Rose), is a rich and romantic masterpiece. The tangled plot of comedy, drama, and nostalgic fantasy depicts the elegant life of the aristocracy of that time. In his new production, Robert Carsen places the action at the end of the Habsburg Empire, underscoring the opera’s subtext of class and conflict against a rich backdrop of gilt and red damask.

In addition to the opera performance, the HD series features Met opera stars conducting live interviews with cast and/or various production crew members while showing behind-the-scene workings.

Admission for The Met: Live in HD broadcasts is $25 for adults, $22 for RBFS members, Met members, and Seniors (65+); $15 for Students (with ID), and children (12 and under). Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Online reservations may be made with MasterCard or VISA until noon on Friday, April 21. Admission will be offered at the door with cash payment only.

Doors open at 12:00 noon. PLEASE NOTE THE EARLY START TIME.
