Step Back in Time with Tavern Talks

5 and 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Sussex Tavern on the historic Shipcarpenter Street Campus in Lewes.

The Lewes Historical Society will host “Tavern Talks”, an immersive tavern experience.

The new presentation, “Faber Sua Fortuna - A Self-Made Man,” will transport guests to 1793 Lewes, when the young nation faced a crisis that may seem all too familiar: a national health emergency in the form of a yellow fever epidemic. As thousands of Philadelphians grew terribly ill, those who could flee the city did so, many finding their way to Lewes.
