Juneteenth Freedom Day Celebration

1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the George H.P. Smith Park, located on the corner of Johnson Avenue & Dupont Avenue, Lewes, Delaware.

A Community-wide, free, family Juneteenth Freedom Day Celebration set for Saturday, June 25, 2022, rain date Sunday, June 26, 2002, 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the George H.P. Smith Park, located on the corner of Johnson Avenue & Dupont Avenue, Lewes, Delaware. Although street parking will be limited on DuPont Ave near the park on that day, the entire field behind The Fred Thomas School Building on DuPont will be available.

The Inaugural City of Lewes Historic Juneteenth Celebration promises to be exciting for everyone. Bring the entire family, children, seniors, Hearing Impaired and disabled all welcomed. There will be something for everyone. The event is planned by the LAAHC (Lewes African American Heritage Commission), City of Lewes, Lewes Parks and Recreations, and the Historic Lewes Farmers Market. The event is free and open to the public. Entertainment, vendors, and food will be available for purchase from the food trucks that have been invited to attend. Live music by Christy Taylor & Golden Branch, Mike Hines & The Look, African & Native American Dancers, Miss Juneteenth, sixty plus vendor booths, Lewes History Table, Food Trucks & More! Bring a lawn chair and plan to spend the afternoon enjoying the celebrations. There will be something for everyone.
