A Community-wide, free, family Juneteenth Freedom Day Celebration set for Saturday, June 24, 2023, rain date Sunday, June 25, 2003.  Although street parking will be limited on DuPont Ave near the park on that day, the entire field behind The Fred Thomas School Building on DuPont will be available.

The City of Lewes Historic Juneteenth Celebration promises to be exciting for everyone. Bring the entire family, children, seniors, Hearing Impaired and disabled all welcomed. There will be something for everyone. The event is planned by the LAAHC (Lewes African American Heritage Commission), City of Lewes, Lewes Parks and Recreations, and the Historic Lewes Farmers Market. The event is free and open to the public. Entertainment, vendors, and food will be available for purchase from the food trucks that have been invited to attend.
