The Rehoboth Beach Museum is pleased to announce the screening of a video oral history with Mr. Hurley Waples, Jr. on July 14 at 4 p.m. Reservations are required and may be made by registering online at rehobothbeachmuseum.org or below.
Mr. Waples is a life-long resident of Rehoboth Beach. His memories include grazing horses on Thompson Island, swimming in the canal, and the circus coming to town. A prominent member of the Faith United Methodist Church, Mr. Waples is a mentor to young people in the African American Community and is an accomplished wood worker. Mr. Waples also recalls farm life in the area and that his grandfather, born a slave, became free and was one of the founders of Faith United Methodist Church.
