The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company will host a free ice cream social to promote fire prevention and safety from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., at Station 1, 219 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach.

Sparky the Safety Dog will be in attendance, teaching attendees about fire safety including smoke alarms; escape plans; stop, drop and roll; and more.
