Friday, February 03 - Sunday, February 05
Sussex Academy to present the musical “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee"

7 p.m., Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, at 21150 Airport Road, Georgetown.

The high school production is double cast with two sets of actors who will alternate performances. The musical tells the story of an eclectic group of six midpubescents who are vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life-unaffirming ding of the bell that signals a spelling mistake.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students, and may be purchased at the door with cash or check only, or online at showtix4u.com. There will be an intermission during which snacks and concessions will be sold. For more information, go to sussexacademy.org.
