Summer shows at Lewes Canalfront Park

The Friends of Lewes Canalfront Park has put together a full schedule of Thursday evening Concerts by the Canal featuring popular repeat performers and new groups guaranteed to get attendees on their feet.

The Thursday night lineup includes: June 15, 7 to 9 p.m., the 19th Street Band, Americana gypsy rock by a popular repeat band; June 29, 7 to 9 p.m., Mike Hines and The Look, another returning group playing R& B, hip-hop, pop, Motown and disco favorites; July 13, 7 to 9 p.m., Joe Baione Jazz Quartet, led by a widely known vibraphonist; Aug. 17, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Can't Fool the Blues, classic rock, blues and R& B; Sept. 21, 6 to 8 p.m: Mark Taylor., rising Nashville singer/songwriter with Lewes ties, bringing his own mix of original top 40 country and classic country covers; and Oct. 5, 6 to 8 p.m., The Funsters, wildly popular local '60s and '70s rock and soul band that brought in a record crowd of more than 1,100 last year.

A Playhouse in the Park performance of “Jack and the Beanstalk” by the Rehoboth Summer Children's Theatre is set for 6:30 p.m., Thursday, July 27.

All shows are free and are made possible by the generous support of Dogfish Beer and Benevolence and the Dogfish Inn, The Lee Ann Wilkinson Group, and Groome Church, Lewes.
