Rainy Day Fun

As on most vacations, rainy days happen.  Here are a few ideas/activites that you and your family might enjoy while waiting for that rain to stop.

Arcades
There are several arcades on the boardwalk that will give your family hours of fun. The Beach Arcade(227-1040}is next to Dolle's at 5 North Boardwalk, while Funland's Arcade (227-1921), Playland Arcade(227-1040) and Surf Side Arcade( 1 Delaware Ave. & the Boardwalk) are on the south side of the boardwalk.

Back Bay Art Glass, LLC
Learn how to create glass pieces. Lessons are on an individual basis. Open Friday-Monday from 10am-5pm. Back Bay is in Lewes on New Road. Go to www.backbayartglass.com for more information.

Book Stores
These not only offer books, but some offer toys, activities and/or story times.  Try out Atlantic Books (227-0490), Browseabout Books (226-2665), and/or  Books and Coffee (226-9959).

Bowling
If you are willing to drive a bit, Millsboro Lanes, 213 Mitchell Street, Millsboro is a thought.  Millsboro is about 12 miles due west on RT 24. Call 934-0400 or visit www.millsborolanes.com for more information.

Cake Break
Need a way to satisfy that 'sweet tooth' and entertain the kids?  Go to Cake Break and have the kids decorate their own delicious cupcakes.  It's a fun way to spend a rainy afternoon!

Crafts

Funland

Jolly Trolley
Take the Jolly Trolley into Rehoboth Beach or Dewey Beach. Just go for a round trip ~ big and little kids young @ heart love it!!!
With a Group? Hire a Van or Bus to visit Dogfish Brewery Tours or go to historic Berlin, Maryland, for the afternoon!!

Public Library

Movies at Midway

Of course there is 'grown-up' shopping galore, but how about taking the children to unique toy stores that carry educational, quality toys and games?  Visit Kid's Ketch on 2nd Street in Lewes or Rehoboth Toy and Kite Company  on the Boardwalk and also on Rehoboth Avenue in Rehoboth. The whole family will have fun!
