RBFS Journeys in Art History presents, “Cezanne: Portraits of Life"

Tuesday, February 21 at 6:00 pm, Cinema Art Theater, 17701 Dartmouth Drive, Dartmouth Plaza (behind the Lewes Wawa).

Exhibition on Screen is thrilled to reprise one of its most successful films, dedicated to the life and work of Paul Cézanne. Cezanne: Portraits of Life is a revealing portrait about a man dubbed ‘the father of us all’ by Matisse and Picasso. Narrated by multi award-winning actor Brian Cox, one cannot appreciate 20th century art without understanding the significance and genius of Paul Cézanne. The film was recorded at the National Portrait Gallery in London, with additional interviews from experts and curators from Museum of Modern Art in New York, National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC and Musée d’Orsay in Paris. With correspondence from the artist himself, the film takes audiences to the places Cézanne lived and worked and sheds light on an artist who is perhaps one of the least known and yet most important of all the Impressionists. Cezanne: Portraits of Life was released to coincide with a major Cézanne exhibition at Tate Modern, the crown jewel of modern art galleries in London (Oct 22, 2021 – Mar 23, 2022). [2022, UK, 85 min, Not Rated]

Admission is $9 for RBFS members, $11.50 for general audience and $10 for seniors (65+) and $5 for students. Patrons are encouraged to purchase admission online at www.rehobothfilm.com. If seats are available, admission can be purchased at the theater starting 30 minutes prior to each screening.
