Students Learn How To Shoot a Film Short

12:00 noon – 4:00 PM
Cinema Art Theater | 17701 Dartmouth Drive, Lewes, DE – JEMS Theater.

The Film Society is committed to supporting our community youth through the art of visual storytelling. This is evident in the effort by staff, the board, and sponsors who have developed the YOUR WORLD Youth Environmental Film Festival on May 5, 2024. We also realize that teachers and students' time is limited. For those reasons we have shifted the focus for the May 5 event from a presentation of student films to a high-level "how to," half-day workshop specifically designed for middle and high school students.

Led by Temple University Film Professor and filmmaker, LeAnn Erickson, the May 5 'Workshop' will engage with students on the basics of filmmaking. Complimentary lunch will be provided but the workshop will be limited to 10 - 15 students in total. There will be prizes awarded to students for purposes of creating a finished short film. Consideration will also be given to select a final student video to screen at the 26th Anniversary of the Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival (November 2024). Students enrolled in a Sussex County school may apply.

Registration is first-come first-serve basis. To reserve your space, send the Film Society an email at info@rehobothfilm.com.

Seating is limited, so don’t delay.
Workshop enrollment closes on Friday, April 19, 2024
